Employment and skills for Ukrainian refugees

Renaisi has partnered with Hackney Council to bring an employment and skills programme specifically designed for Ukrainian refugees who are new to the borough.

In partnership with the Council, Renaisi will pilot the programme dedicated to supporting Ukrainian refugees living in the borough of Hackney to find employment opportunities, while enhancing their English language skills.

We aim to empower participants to build a successful future in their new Hackney home. We offer a range of services tailored to the needs of participants.

One-to-one employment support:

We recognise that each person’s journey is unique, and we are here to help individuals access tailored job opportunities and develop their career paths. Our experienced staff will provide high-quality advice, coaching, and guidance to equip participants with essential job search techniques. From crafting an impressive CV to mastering interview skills, we will boost participants’ confidence and improve their career prospects.

Weekly ESOL conversation sessions:

Virtual sessions will help participants enhance their English language skills through engaging conversations. We cover a wide range of topics, including employability, to help participants become proficient in English to excel in the UK job market.

Weekly integration clubs:

Participants can join in-person clubs to socialise, learn, and have some fun. Integration clubs provide an opportunity to connect with others, form friendships, and expand networks. Outings will make the experience even more enjoyable.

Through a blended approach of in-person and virtual sessions, we ensure flexible learning and support to fit participants’ schedules.

What to expect

By the end of the 12-week programme, participants can expect to achieve the following:

• Industry-standard CV: We work closely with participants to develop professionally crafted CVs that align with the standards recognised by employers. These CVs showcase participants’ skills, experiences, and qualifications effectively, enhancing their chances of securing employment.
• Improved English proficiency: Our dedicated ESOL conversation sessions and integrated learning approach help participants improve their English language skills. Through engaging discussions and focused language practise, participants gain the confidence and proficiency needed to communicate effectively in various professional settings.
• Better understanding of UK culture: We understand the importance of cultural integration for successful employment. The programme includes sessions that provide valuable insights into UK culture, norms, and workplace expectations. This knowledge enables participants to navigate the local job market with confidence and adapt to their new environment seamlessly.
• Job application skills: Throughout the programme, participants can acquire essential knowledge on how to effectively apply for jobs in the UK. We equip them with valuable insights and techniques, such as job search strategies, application writing, interview preparation, and networking skills. These skills significantly enhance employability prospects.
