Wise Horizons
Wise Horizons is a free digital skills programme tailored to the needs of over 50s in East London.
Wise Horizons is a new digital skills programme for people aged over 50 who are long-term unemployed or on a low income.
Wise Horizons is a package of one-to-one and group-based learning activities spread over 12 weeks. Participants will be supported by a digital skills tutor and a dedicated employment advisor to improve employability.
By the end of the 12-week programme participants will be updated on changes in technology and have improved digital confidence. They will learn about:
- Finding and using online resources and public services
- Preparing for remote interviews and remote working
- Money management, including using online banking and pensions
- Communicating online
- Staying safe online
About Wise Horizons
Wise Horizons teaches over 50s the digital skills that employers are looking for.
Weekly classes blend e-learning modules with Renaisi’s proven employability support, designed specifically for 50+ job seekers.
The 12-week programme provides:
- A digital skills assessment and training plan
- Support to create or update your CV online
- Support with online job searching and applications
- Interview coaching
- Signposting to other support services, eg housing support and financial advice
A dedicated Advisor will provide a further 12 weeks of support to find, secure and sustain work, after the digital programme ends.
Eligibility
You are eligible to take part in Wise Horizons if you are:
- over 50 years old
- long-term unemployed (two years or more) or earning below £18,000 per year
- living in an East London Borough.
