Rachel Sturgis

I am a Project Manager at Renaisi and an experienced data analyst and project manager. I have a background in monitoring and evaluation in the third sector, including the development of theories of change and M&E frameworks. I am particularly interested in supporting organisations to build their evaluation expertise and working on issues affecting disadvantaged young people and migrants.

My experience and skills

Before joining Renaisi, I worked as the Data & Insight Manager for an educational charity where I was responsible for a range of monitoring and evaluation activities. My role consisted in providing relevant research and analysis to guide strategic decision-making around volunteer recruitment, programme delivery and programme design. I project managed the charity’s annual impact evaluation, continuously optimised their CRM system for internal monitoring and reporting, and supported the charity’s strategy development, which included the piloting of programme models to explore different ways of reaching more disadvantaged students.

At Renaisi, I provide project manager level support to a range of projects including:

  • A learning partnership for the iWill Fund, a match-funded grant scheme which aims to support more young people to take part in Youth Social Action.
  • An evaluation of the Kick The Dust project which focuses on increasing the engagement of young people in the heritage sector.
  • Camden’s Good Work Programme Evaluation and Learning Partner project where she is assessing input and activity information to support learning around this innovative local level employment programme.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English and American Studies from the University of Nottingham, and a Master’s degree in Transnational Studies from University College London.

My interests

I enjoy visiting new places abroad and at home whenever possible, and as an avid reader, am always on the lookout for new translated fiction. I also like to keep active and particularly enjoy HIIT sessions that really get your blood bumping.
