Senior Project Manager (place-based evaluations)

Lily O’Flynn

I lead our portfolio of place-based evaluation work. I have a background in community-led development and I’m passionate about projects that seek to give local people more involvement and power in shaping the places in which they live and work. I manage learning and evaluation partner contracts for Power to Change’s Empowering Places programme, DCMS and the National Lottery Community Fund – Place Based Social Action programme, collaborative funding programme Local Motion and Local Trust’s Measuring Change programme with three Big Local areas.

My experience and skills

I’ve worked in the field of community development for eight years. Prior to joining Renaisi’s consultancy team in late 2019, I worked as a Senior Programmes Manager at UK Community Foundations, overseeing national programmes of grassroots grant making and leading on evaluation and learning across a variety of diverse programmes such as housing and homelessness, counter extremism, poverty and disadvantage, refugees and asylum seekers, women and girls, and capacity building in all within a grassroots setting.

Alongside research, evaluation and learning, my projects involve building skills and capacity of local voluntary sector organisations, running workshops, interviewing stakeholders, creating bespoke measurement systems and tools for measuring place-based change.

My interests

I love being outdoors, whether its walking, running, cycling, swimming or just hanging out in the sunshine. I also enjoy most things cultural and (pre-covid) spent a lot of time at the theatre, or going to live music or comedy. Aligned to my work I’m always keen to think about how power structures can be reimagined and how to champion voices that aren’t always heard; I’ve been part of number of voluntary sector ‘movements’ such as the grant givers movement that aim to challenge power from within.
