I am an ESOL and Employability Tutor on the RISE (Refugees into Sustainable Employment) programme.
I started to work for Renaisi as a freelance tutor about two years ago and was offered a permanent position in February 2020. I am certain this position is helping me with fulfilling myself in both professional and personal contexts and gives me the opportunity to impart knowledge, and support people facing the challenges of settlement and integration.
The skills and knowledge acquired through learning and education can enhance social inclusion.
My background includes instructing and training people from all walks of life in both traditional and alternative environments. I am skilled at formulating schemes of work and lessons plans, evaluating and placing candidates as well as preparing progress cards.
I have instructed training programmes and courses (vocational and non-vocational, accredited and non-accredited) such as functional skills English, employability skills, customer service, and ESOL skills for life towards OCR, NOCN, and City & Guilds qualifications with an overall success of 98%. I have also delivered government training schemes – commissioned to deliver by Job Centre Plus.
Throughout my career, I have been recognised for improving students’ performance and developing innovative teaching strategies and programmes. I believe that my greatest teaching and training strength is my ability to understand each candidate’s unique requirements and assisting them as much as their potential allows.
Hobbies and interests
I am a believer in the notion of widespread education and equal opportunities as well as to the notion of committed contributions, therefore when I am not writing new lesson plans with new topics or creating learning programmes and their possible implementation, I read new curricula and their implications for learners. As I am bilingual, I enjoy comparing the English education against the country I am fluent in.
I love travelling and visiting new places. I am also a big ‘foodie’ and love to try new and different menus from all over the world as well as experimenting with my own recipes at home.
