Francesca Hearing

I am a Researcher in Renaisi’s Consultancy team. I joined Renaisi in July 2023 and work across multiple projects supporting organisations with research, evaluation and learning.

Skills and Experiences

I am trained in qualitative research methods and have experience in in-depth interviews and reflexive methodologies. With a focus on intersectional analysis, I am especially interested in research praxis for social justice and systemic change led by communities.

My background is in health research and policy. Before joining Renaisi, I coordinated an independent decolonising global health network at a public health university, where I developed an interest in the application of decolonial thinking to research and practice. I previously worked as a Research & Project Assistant for a global women’s health charity, where I undertook desk-based research, as well as qualitative and quantitative approaches to monitoring, evaluation and learning. I hold a BA in French and am currently completing an MA in Gender Studies at SOAS, where my dissertation is a mixed-methods ethnographic study of the potential for decolonial-feminist methodological practices inside institutionalised university spaces.

My interests

Swimming at the lido, discovering new fiction and old recipe books, and planning trips to the sea – I’m also trying (slowly) to learn to code…
